Bruce Davison
Vice-Chair of Sonnenschein’s Tax Practice, Mr. Davison has extensive experience in the non-profit area. Mr. Davison has represented the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation from its inception, two of the 20 largest private foundations in the United States, and two charitable remainder trusts each with assets in excess one billion dollars. He obtained a private letter ruling from the Internal Revenue Service authorizing the Community Foundation to own and operate the Kansas City Royals.
Joe Andrew
The former Chair of the Democratic National Committee, Mr.Andrew advises corporations on advocacy, coalition building, and campaign initiatives on Capitol Hill and across the fifty states. In the past two years, Mr. Andrew has managed the negotiation of transactions worth in excess of 100 billion dollars, including one involving one of the nation’s largest and most high-profile non-profit leadership organizations, three Fortune 500 mergers in the healthcare and insurance areas, and lead counsel for the negotiation of one of the largest private insurance contracts in the nation.
Juan Carlos Iturregui
Mr. Iturregui is a Senior Advisor who serves on the President’s Export Council, and specializes in business, regulatory, and public policy issues affecting the Americas. He works closely with business executives and decision makers on Capitol Hill and in the Executive Branch, as well as in various Latin American and Caribbean countries, to promote investments, strategic alliances and public-private sector partnerships.
Alison Kutler
Ms. Kutler develops and implements comprehensive federal and state advocacy campaigns, provides political intelligence services to financial sector clients, advises corporate clients on the government and political aspects of major transactions, develops partnerships between corporate, governmental and nonprofit entities, creates and executes federal sales and marketing strategies, and provides compliance and political law counsel. Ms. Kutler held several positions in the Clinton Administration from 1993 to 1996, including serving as Assistant to U.S. Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown, and as a Congressional Affairs Specialist at the U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Export Administration and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Fred McClure
Mr. McClure is a former head of White House legislative affairs for President George H.W. Bush, who has strong ties to the current White House, senior officials at U.S. Trade Representative, and leading Republican and Democratic Members of the U.S. House and U.S. Senate.
Mike McNamara
Mr. McNamara serves as Chair of Sonnenschein’s national Public Law & Policy Strategies Group, which includes our Advocacy and Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Practices. Mr. McNamara provides strategic counsel on matters intersecting business, law, policy, and politics for corporate, association, coalition, government, and nonprofit clients.
Mark Meissner
Mr. Meissner is a national public affairs expert and has spent more than 15 years advising organization, corporation and government leaders on communications strategies. Mr. Meissner regularly works with reporters and editors to balance coverage and highlight important spokespeople. Mr. Meissner prepares on-the-record spokespeople for national and local media interaction.
Gilberto Ocañas
Mr. Ocañas served as a key strategist and coalition development leader for four Presidential campaigns. With strong ties to the Hispanic community, Mr. Ocañas most recently led the National Latino Presidential Campaign for the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in 2000.
Darry Sragow
Mr. Sragow is a leading Democratic strategist and advisor with extremely close ties to California elected officials and its Congressional Delegation, and a long track record of developing and organizing legislative and grassroots campaigns in the political arena.
Mark Weller
Mr. Weller brings to clients more than 25 years of legislative experience, much of it focusing on medical technology issues. His keen understanding of the congressional and regulatory decision-making process was formed during his tenure as a staff member of U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar (R-IN); while an attorney for the National Republican Senatorial Committee; and as a manager of the Washington office of a Fortune 500 company.
